Italian painter and theorist, called Il Lucchese. After training in Lucca with Domenico Ferrucci, he settled for 12 years (1655-67) in Florence, where he studied with Felice Ficherelli and Baldassare Franceschini (called il Volterrano). His style unites classical and Baroque elements and reflects his study of the art of Reni, Cortona and Rubens.Show more
