Dutch painter, called Cabel. He gained his sobriquet 'Cabel' from the name of his house on the Prinsengracht, Amsterdam. His highly realistic summer and winter landscapes are closely related to those of his exact contemporary, Hendrick Avercamp, who was born in Amsterdam, but moved to Kampen as an infant.
