Edward Charles Williams
1807 – 1881
English painter, part of the Williams family of painters, the eldest son of Edward Williams. He received his early training from his father, as can readily be seen from the similarity of their works - both painting in the same woodland style reminiscent of the early Dutch landscape artists. Williams lived in and around London for most of his life and many of his paintings feature scenes from the surrounding countryside including Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Essex.
