Jørgen Valentin Sonne

1801 – 1890

Danish painter. His father Jeppe (1771-1833) was a copperplate engraver for the Royal Mint. He originally intended to pursue a military career and enrolled at the Royal Danish Military Academy, but left after a year and went to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts instead.
