Lorenzo Gelati

1824 – 1893

Italian painter associated with the Macchiaioli group. Around 1850 he attended the Caffè Michelangelo without being a regular member. In 1852 he decorated there the rooms used by the artists with two mural paintings, Tramonto (sunset) and Ruins with the Moon.
