Sidney Starr
1857 – 1925
English genre, portrait, landscape and decorative painter. He studied at the Slade School under Edward John Poynter (1836-1919) and Legros, winning a Slade Scholarship 1874. Starr spent the first half of his artistic career in Britain and Europe, before moving to New York.
