Simon Von Taisten
1455 – 1530
Tyrolean painter (Simone da Tesido in Italy), active in the province of Welsberg-Taisten in the southern Tyrol. He was influenced by his Tyrolean contemporaries Michael and Friedrich Pacher. By 1484 he was the head of a flourishing and highly active workshop, capable of executing large scale altarpieces and fresco cycles.
