Stefano Cernotto

Dalmatian painter, born probably in Rab Island, Croatia, active in Venice. He was repeatedly mistaken for Francesco Vecellio or Polidoro da Lanciano. Contrary to earlier assumption that he was a pupil of Bonifacio Veronese, recent research proved that he was trained in the shop of Titian around 1520.
