This painting, depicting a church interior with elegant figures strolling and figures attending mass, is a collaborative work by Peeter Neeffs the Elder, a specialist in painting church interiors, and Frans Francken II, who painted the figures. The represented church is almost certainly the Antwerp Cathedral. The present work, signed by both artists, is one of many similar compositions produced by Neeffs in collaboration with Francken II or other artists.
