In 1889, Wadysaw Podkowiski and Józef Pankiewicz of the Warsaw College of Art visited Paris for the World Fair. There they encountered Impressionism, and, through Theo van Gogh, the paintings of Cézanne. The exposition of their own work in Warsaw in 1890 signaled the beginning of Impressionism there.Show more
