Willem Benson

1521 – 1574

Flemish painter, part of a family of painters, son of Ambrosius Benson. Active in Bruges, he was a member of the confraternity of St Luke, and worked in the style of Gerard David. His works are sometimes confused with those of Adriaen Isenbrant.
